Stormwater Filtration Systems: Storm Vaults

StormVault® System

SWIMS, Inc. services and maintains StormVault systems. A bi-annual inspection is recommended to ensure the system in proper working order. Our inspection includes visual checks of floating debris, inspect control orifice for debris, probing of chambers for accumulated sediment and hydrocarbon mat inspection.

Our maintenance includes the removal of sediments and replacement of hydrocarbon mats. SWIMS removes and disposes of the sediment material.

SWIMS perform the StormVault inspection and maintenance with Confined Space certified technicians.

The patented design of the StormVault® system provides effective stormwater quality control using a process of volumetric separation. Developed to meet Phase II NPDES requirements, the below-grade system is comprised of a series of baffles to control flow and minimize resuspension of settled pollutants. The StormVault® system has the ability to capture and retain extremely small particles, while discharging flows at or below pre-development rates.

  • Documented studies demonstrate effluent water quality with TSS concentrations of less than 20 mg/L, with a 95% level of confidence, over a wide range of influent concentrations and inflow volumes
  • Internal bypass or diversion structure makes it an offline system
  • Water quality volume can be drained down over any time to meet regulations
  • Provides peak flow attenuation for any flow rate
